She was predeceased by: her husband Jesse Andrew Penn I; and her brother Colonel Valentine. She is survived by: her children, Veronica Denise Hagwood (Sammy), Tabbatha Alisha Jones (Kenneth), Richard Albert Penn (Jennifer), Kenneth Leon Penn (Crystal), Jesse Andrew Penn, II (Penny), Linda Dillard and Faye Hairston (Will); her siblings, Frances Bracey, Sara Morrison, Gloria Tanks, Wanda Hairston, Patricia Preston, Vanessa Simmons, Fitzgerald Mayhan, Quincly Valentine and Nathaniel Valentine; and her granddaughter Amanda Thompson. She is also survived by 14 grandchildren, and 18 great-grandchildren.
