He was predeceased by: his parents, James Redd and Martha Goins Dillard Redd; his former wife Christine Hairston Redd; his siblings, Lillian Wright, Louise Redd, Doylas Dillard, Mattie Hines, Ethel Singleton, Agnes Hairston, Gertie Waller, Novella Dodson and Everett Dillard; and his stepsiblings, Sarah Valentine and Joe Redd.
He is survived by: his wife Arleen France Redd; his children, Blenda Minor of Woodbridge, VA, Martha Redd of Martinsville, VA, Karen Turner of Bassett, VA and Wayne Redd of Martinsville, VA; and his sister Mary Jane Via of Martinsville, VA. He is also survived by eight grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; one great great-grandchild.
In accordance with the CDC, a face covering, and social distancing is required.
