It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Elder Annie C. Pettie (Martinsville, Virginia), who passed away on February 3, 2019, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, William Mckinley Cosby, Sr. and Sarah Elizabeth Hairston; her daughter Janice Pettie Bowles; her siblings, Leon Cosby, Evelyn Walton and Cecil Smith; and her son-in-law Jack Graves.

She is survived by: her husband Albert "Pete" Pettie; her daughter Debra P. Graves of Eden; her siblings, William Cosby, Jr. of Petersburg, Virginia, Dorothy Martin of Belleville, IL and Carolyn Winston of Cleveland, OH; her grandchildren, Brian Strand (Marian) of Greensboro, Jacqueline Strand of Greensboro, Lauren Madden (Wayman) of Burlington and Jennifer Bowles of Martinsville, Virginia; her great grandchildren, Bryson, Braylon Strand of Greensboro and Peyton Madden of Burlington; her close friend Bessie Price of Marlton, NJ; and also Martha Lovell of Rocky Mount, VA..
