He was predeceased by: his parents, Jessie Ben Valentine and Sara Redd Valentine; his siblings, Mae Penn (Jesse), Colonel Valentine and Alphonso Valentine (Bernice); and his granddaughter Ta'Ni Valentine.
He is survived by: his wife Denice "Jackie" Blackstock Valentine; his children, Cotena Valentine, Nyree Koger (LaFonza), Earnest Valentine, Jr., Marvin Blackstock (Kathy) and Chad Blackstock; his siblings, Frances Bracey, Gloria Tanks (Riley), Wonda Hairston, Sara Morrison (Dan), Patricia Preston (Jerry), Vanessa Simmons (Lewis), Fitzgerald Mayhan (Lorene) and Nathaniel Valentine (Lorraine); his aunt Mary Jane Via; and his close friend Darren Morehead. He is also survived by 16 grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Friday, September 6th 2024 from 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM at the Ambassadors (241 Peter Hill Rd, Eden, NC 27288). A reception was held on Saturday, September 7th 2024 from 11:00 AM to 8:00 PM at 225 Woodland Dr, Eden, NC 27288.
