He was predeceased by: his parents, Leonard John Mitchell and Doris Grace Cochran Mitchell; his wife Marcella Whitlow Mitchell; and his brother Z. A. Mitchell. He is survived by: his daughters, Angela Jones (Jeff) and Jessica Bailey (Drew); his sister Linda Mitchell Meadows; and his grandchildren, Gage Ragans, Hunter Durham, Nick Durham, Caleb Ragans, Colton Kuczinski and Alexandria Bailey.
A celebration of life was held on Wednesday, January 15th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Wright Funeral Service Chapel (1425 Greensboro Rd, Martinsville, VA 24112).
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Mountain Valley Hospice in loving memory of David Leonard Mitchell.
