He was predeceased by: his parents, Roy Ashley and Sadie Spencer Ashley; his siblings, Elaine Ashley Adams (Doug) and Leroy Ashley (Patricia); his canine pal Toby; and his nephew Jeffery.
He is survived by: his wife Kim Mason Ashley; his son Roy Ashley (Lida); his stepdaughter Keelie Jones; his siblings, Patty Kipfinger (Randy) and Wes Ashley (Phyllis); his pet Sarge; and his close friends, Erma, Geneva, Clif, Lisa, Nancy, Ann, Kenny, Mickey, Kathy, Janie, Shirley, Rose, Tommy, Chris, Georginea and New Vision Baptist Church. He is also survived by eight nieces and nephews; numerous great, and great great nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made, in memory of Chancie, to New Vision Baptist Church Van Fund, 4161 Fork Mountain Rd., Rocky Mount, VA 24151.
