It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Bonnie Woolridge Akers of Martinsville, Virginia, who passed away on November 25, 2022, at the age of 80, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her husband James "Jim" Akers; her children, Gaynell Cannoy and JC Akers; and her grandson Adam Akers. She is survived by: her son Billy Akers (Betsy); her grandchildren, Erica Westmoreland (Douglas) and Nicholas Goehle; her great grandchildren, Douglas Westmoreland Jr., Camden Westmoreland and Brianna Cannoy; and her close friend Douglas Stokes Kidd. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
