It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Betty Fretwell Austin of Martinsville, Virginia, born in Henry County, Virginia, who passed away on February 22, 2022, at the age of 88, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Henry Fretwell and Sallie Koger Fretwell; her husband Ray Rudolph Austin; and her siblings, Lawrence Fretwell, Edward Fretwell, J. W. Fretwell and Helen Handy.
She is survived by: her brother Billy Fretwell (Jean); and her sister-in-law Deforest Fretwell. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Due to the governor's requirements for COVID 19, a face covering is recommended and social distancing should be observed when visiting the funeral home.
