It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Aubrey Lee Compton Sr. (Martinsville, Virginia), who passed away on February 5, 2022, at the age of 93, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Elmo Powell Compton and Grace Barrow Compton; his son Keith M. Compton; his siblings, Gerald (Gertrude), Elmo P., Jr. (Christine), Edward (Gladys), James, Floyd Compton (Gayle), Evelyn Norman-Spencer (Philip), Ruth Gregory (Leonard), Lucille Peters (Zera), Reamona Bussey (W. Herbert) and Dorothy Snyder (David); his niece Gwendolyn Bricker (Steven); his nephews, Gary Peters, J. B. Compton, David Snyder, Jr. and Aubrey; and his friend Harold Draper.

He is survived by: his son Aubrey Lee Compton, II; his daughter-in-law Michelle Rickman Compton; his grandsons, Caleb Shane and Ian Lee Compton; his siblings-in-law, Mary Ruth Compton, Jack S. Warren and Thomas K. Warren; and also Phyllis Warren Compton. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
