He was predeceased by: his parents, Harrison Hairston and Mary Elizabeth Noel Hairston; his wife Margaret Hairston; and his siblings, Annette Hairston, Dorothy Corbin Hairston, Mary Elizabeth Boone, William "Bill" Hairston, Lewis L. "Leon" Hairston, James A. Hairston, Henry Clay Hairston and Frank Hairston. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends.
