With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Alta Mae Chinault of Martinsville, Virginia, who passed away on October 10, 2020 at the age of 86. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Amos Pierce and Sylvia Rigsby Pierce; her husband Earnest Lee Chinault; her siblings, Onie Pierce, Dale Pierce, Bill Pierce and Edith Jackson; and her daughter-in-law Debbie Chinault.

She is survived by: her sons, Dale Chinault of Hiwassee and Barry Chinault (Peggy) of Martinsville; and her grandchildren, Angela Willis, Kathleen Griffin, Brandi Perry, Rodney Bryant and Jason Gearheart. She is also survived by 6 great-grandchildren; 9 great-great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
