She was predeceased by: her parents, Walter Henry and Ruth Alma Johnson Showers; her husband Lloyd Newton Shiflett; and her siblings, Tom, Joe, Giles, Ray, Monk, Winnie, Elma, Jack and Lavinia.
She is survived by: her children, Ruth Ann Florance of Marshall, Virginia, Billy Shiflett (Terri) of Front Royal and Paul Shiflett (Christine) of Markham. She is also survived by ten grandchildren and twenty great grandchildren.
