He was predeceased by: his parents, Harold M. Clapp and Rachel Hoover Clapp; his brother Thomas "Snook" Clapp; his niece Stephanie Clapp; his parents-in-law, Violet and Dean Hamm; and his siblings-in-law, Randall Hamm, David Smith, Fred Lester and Irene Clapp.
He is survived by: his wife Jeannie Clapp; and his siblings, Roger Clapp of Richmond, VA, Ken Clapp of Dublin, VA, Eddie Clapp of Norton, VA, J. C. Clapp of Saltville, VA, Wanda Smith of Rogersville, TN and Peggy Lester of Glade Spring, VA. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and cousins.
