He was predeceased by: his parents, George Neal Cummings and Leta Box Cummings; his wife Billie Lou Cummings; his daughter Carol Lynn Cummings; and his siblings, Wayne Cummings and Eleanor Jackson.
He is survived by: his brother Joseph Cummings; his children, Teri Townsend (Fred) of Yorktown and Jeff Cummings (Jean) of Winston Salem, NC; and his grandchildren, Bobby Clark (Tonya), Stacey Major (Brandon), Taylor Cummings, Sydney Cummings, Chad Townsend (Missy) and Cory Townsend (Stephanie). He is also survived by nine great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the Marion Baptist Church General Fund, 1258 North Main Street, Marion, VA 24354.
