He was predeceased by: his parents, George "Quincey" Rowland and Virginia Dye Rowland; his wife Adeline Rowland; his son Bobby David Rowland; and his brothers, Mack, Raymond and Roger Rowland.

He is survived by: his daughters, Virginia "Ginger" L. Brown (Charles) of Berea, OH and Anna "Ree" Marie Mascio (Gabriel) of Yardley, PA; and his grandchildren, Angela Schermer, Robert Silas Rowland II, Jessica Grondolsky, Jarred Brown, Leah Cogar, Gabrielle Mascio and Alex Mascio. He is also survived by 10 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
