He was loved and cherished by many people including: his son Joseph E. Brooks of Tallahassee; his grandchildren, Olivia Brooks of Tallahassee and Kelsey Lynn Gann of Savanah; his siblings, Cid Brooks (Shirley Brooks), Mildred King and Lillian Edwards; and his spouse Joslyn Helen Brooks.
