He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward Hirzel and Hattie Hirzel; and his siblings, Leo, Earl, Isabell and Phyllis.
He is survived by: his former wife Janet R. Wilson; his children, Heidi Salburg (Doug) of Mesa, AZ, Neal Hirzel (Deb) of Apache Junction, AZ and Alicia Price (Wade) of Brookings, SD.; his wife Jeanette Thranum of Northglenn, AZ.; and his children, Debra Stutzman (Paul) of Westminster, CO, Dawn Wilson (Tom) of Cabot, AK, Paula Jensen (Ron) and David Thranum (Lynae) of Marion, VA.. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
