It is with great sadness that we announce the death of John Addison Whitner III (Marion, Virginia), born in Atlanta, Georgia, who passed away on April 22, 2023, at the age of 89, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Whitner and Dorothy Whitner (Coffin); his wife Geraldine; his daughter Jerri Ann Whitner Henderson; his son-in-law Joey Henderson; and his brother Joseph C. Whitner.
He is survived by: his sister Dorothy Whitner-Poole (Bob Poole) of Salida, CO; his sons, John R. Whitner (Deana) of Haysi, VA, Rick Whitner (Vickie) of Blacksburg, VA and Steve Whitner (Tracy) of Birmingham, AL; his daughter-in-law Becky Henderson of Waterloo, SC; his grandchildren, Richard (Kim), Mandy (Jon), Candace, Faith (Michael), Stephanie, Carrie, Jerri (Blake), Michael (Kathy), Addison, Rachel, Ruth, Joseph and Grace; and his great grandchildren, Tori, Tyler, Tess, Llewyn, Mica and Elizabeth.
