He was predeceased by : his parents, Clydie Johnson and Bea Trivett Johnson; his siblings, Shirley Walton, Clifton Johnson, Pansy Brown and Retha Grubb; and his friend Lawrence Cornett.

He is survived by : his wife Janie Johnson; his children, Laura Moser, Jimmy Johnson (Diane), Lisa Marsh (Scott) and Brad Johnson (Jessie); his grandchildren, Emily Howell (Matt), Jordan Johnson (Keri), Stephen Harris, Rebecca Jackson (Josh), Daniel Harris (Nikea), Katelyn Marsh, James Wayne Johnson and Beverly Christine Johnson; his great grandchild Bo Harris; and his close friends, Jay Halsey, Mike McClellan, Charles Kinser, Howard Sharpe, Gary Hash, Dennis Eller and James Wagner.
