He was predeceased by: his parents, Vance Vernon and Eula Vernon; his son Kelly Ryan Vernon; his sister Patricia Vernon Brooks; and his mother-in-law Virginia Jones Heath.
He is survived by: his wife Helen Heath Vernon; his children, Karen Vernon (Drake Thomas) of Black Mountain, NC, Kevin Vernon (Lisa) of Marion and Keith Vernon (Teena) of Greensboro, NC; his daughter-in-law Jo-Ann Vernon of Warrensburg, MO; his siblings, Ronald Vernon (Phyllis) of Polk City, FL and Peggy Vernon Blankenbeckler (Ronnie) of Marion; and his grandchildren, Adam Vernon-Young, Ian, Ryan Vernon, Laura Vernon, Hailey, Hannah, Henry and Hayden Vernon. He is also survived by four step-grandchildren; and two step-great grandchildren.
Due to the ongoing pandemic, those attending in person must wear masks, and social distancing guidelines will be carefully observed.
