He was predeceased by: his parents, George Roten and Ethel Mae Darnell Roten; his wife Shelby Jean Miller Roten; his siblings, Athalee Wingler and Earvin Roten; and his great grandchildren, KeMari and KeMaih Greer.
He is survived by: his children, Renea Miller (Wesley, Sr.) of Chilhowie, Renell Barron (Walter Jr.) of Marion, Renessa Roten of Front Royal and Rebessa Greer (Duane) of Atkins; his siblings, Johnsie Little, Maxine Reece, Lorraine Hunt, Margie Shew and Johnny Roten; his cousin Russell Roten; and his close friends, Kenny Scott, Wilton Blevins and Jon Sage. He is also survived by nine grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.
