He was predeceased by: his wife Judy Renee Perkins Yates; his parents, Orville Lee Yates and Kathleen Hart Yates; and his great-niece Isabella Ramey. He is survived by: his sons, Blake Scott Yates (Angela) of Honaker and Brandon David Yates (Nikki) of Meadowview; his grandchildren, Emma Yates, Lucas Yates and Lawson Yates; and his siblings, Diana Belcher (Ronald) of Honaker and Jerry Yates (Connie) of Abingdon. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews.
