He is survived by: his children, Opal Davis (Michael), Ashley James, Melanie Whaley, David James, Jr. (Ashley) and William "Winkie" James; his siblings, Vickie Morgan (James), Janie Cox, Robert James (Nelda) and Clifford James; and his close friends, Bim James and Chuck Scott. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren; four great grandchildren; several nieces, nephews.
