He was predeceased by: his parents, Ernest D. Ward and Mildred M. Ward; his wife Marion; his brothers, Dunton (Elmira) and Wesley (Myrtle); his siblings-in-law, Myrene Poulson and Herman Poulson; and his nephew Ernie Ward.
He is survived by: his children, Patsy W. Turner (Jimmy), Pam W. Carpenter (Kris) and Charles G. Ward, Jr. (Roxane); his grandsons, Luke Carpenter, Brad Carpenter, Turner and Colton Ward; and his nieces and nephews, Lynn Patykula, Dixie Greer, Diane Justice, Deborah Mears and Tommy Ward.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Mary's-Albero House for Disabled Children, 6171 Kempsville Circle, Norfolk, VA 23502.
