He was predeceased by: his parents, Ralph Sims and Myrtle Wolfe Sims; his siblings, Violet Brown, Rene Hackwell, Ralph Sims, Jr., Randall "Sonny" Sims, Ricky Sims, Ronnie Sims and Wayne Sims; and his grandchildren, Josiah Johnsey and Danielle Sims.
He is survived by: his wife Jane Sims; his children, Kandi Johnsey (Allen), Jessica Woodward (Charles Meador), Rocky, Chasity Sims and AJ Sims (Johnnie Hood); his grandchildren, Nicole, Lexy, Caedmon, Mia, Jazzy, Kenzie, Rose, Abby, Jason, Kaylee of Zeke, JJ and Xavier; and his sisters, Sheila "Sissy" Garcia, Teenie (Steve Brooks), Wanda Whittle and Tammy (Ron Chadwick). He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
