He was predeceased by: his wife Patricia White Stephens; his son Charles Ancil Stephens; his parents, Charles Stephens and Ruby Stephens; and his brother Donald Stephens.
He is survived by: his daughters, Linda Boyette (Garry) of Galax and Arlene Terry (Charles) of Chilhowie; his daughter-in-law Malisa Stephens of New Castle; and his niece Sandra Bortel of Bristol, Tenn.. He is also survived by 7 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and 10 great-great-grandchildren.
