He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, William Burton and Azalea Berry; his wife Barbara; his sons, William Burton III (Cara), Nicholas Burton (Sharon), Christopher Burton and Brad Burton; his grandchildren, Harrison, Jillian, Ethan, Maddie, Christopher, Barron and Alana; and his brother Ken Burton.

He served six years on the Board of Directors at Evergreen Country Club and held leadership roles as Past President of the Vienna Rotary Club, the Manassas Rotary Club, and the Manassas Rotary Foundation.
