He is survived by: his wife Adele; his children, Erin (Mark) and Peter Jr. (Lisa); and his grandchildren, Kasey Kylie (Nate), Tommy (Rachel) and Madison.
Commissioned as a Second Lieutenant from Officers Candidate School at Fort Benning, Georgia, MG McVey's tremendous contributions to the mounted force also include an assignment as the Assistant Chief of Staff for Operations (G-3) of V Corps, U.S. Army Europe and the 7th Army and several years with the 3rd Armored Calvary Regiment.
