He was predeceased by: his parents, Okey Homer and Mary Elizabeth Gooch Patterson; and his siblings, George Triplett, Edward, Okey, Robert, Lawrence, Ernest, Harold, Herman, Richard, Jimmy, Thelma, Irene, Roberta, Glenna, Lorraine and Katherine.
He is survived by: his wife T. Carol Barnes Patterson; his daughter Elizabeth (Rakeem Bryant); his grandson Nehemiah Bryant; his sister Louetta Patterson of Columbus, OH; and his sister-in-law Mary Lindsay (Michael) of Greensboro, NC. He is also survived by nephews/nieces, great nephews/nieces; cousins; and a host of great friends.
