He was predeceased by: his parents, John Robert and Adele Catherine Bower (Gliwski). He is survived by: his wife Barbara; his brother Andrew J. Bower of Chicopee, Mass.; his sons, James G. Bower (Tamara) of Moseley, Sean A. Bower (Erin) of Boulder and Colo; his grandchildren, Hunter Bower (Allison) of Reston, Hannah Bower of Washington, D. C., Taylor Bower of Lynchburg, Ryan Bower of Denver and Colo; and his cousin Barbara Spinks of Westfield, Mass.. He is also survived by nephews, extended family and numerous friends.

In lieu of flowers, contributions could be made to the American Cancer Society.
