He was predeceased by: his wife Reva Nuckols Alvis; his parents, George Sr. Alvis and Barnes Alvis; and his brother Gilliam. He is survived by: his children, Debbie Dunlavey (Donnie), Phyllis Henley (Mert), Dennis Alvis (Betsy) and Randy Alvis (Cindy); and his grandchildren, Jason (Parker), Michael (Harli), Peyton Dunlavey (Ashley), Erin, Thomas (Rachel), Adam Henley (Maryanne), Callie Carter (Scott), Brett, Georgie, Emmy Alvis and Hannah Molnar. He is also survived by eleven great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Goochland Fire and Rescue Co. 3 and/or Goochland Baptist Church.
