He was predeceased by: his parents, Elmer Taylor and Mildred Taylor of Madison, VA.; his wife Lillian Elizabeth "Betty" Strickler Taylor; his daughter Lisa Dee Taylor; and his brother Curtis Taylor.
He is survived by: his close friend Solange Taylor; his children, Johnny "Jay" Earl Taylor, Jr. (Johnna) of Madison, VA, John Scott Taylor (Anna) of Fayetteville, GA and Terri Beth Turner (Mark) of Port Orange, FL; his grandchildren, Ryan Taylor, Abby Taylor (Morgan), Angel Rupard, Coleman Taylor (Joyce), Tiffany Taylor and Matthew Taylor; and his brother Raymond "Khaki" Taylor (Ruth). He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
