He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Lyle Stephenson and Helen Marie Leff Stephenson; and his wife Dorothy May Fowler Stephenson. He is survived by: his sons, Byron Zadok Stephenson (Amy) of Chambersburg, David Clayton Stephenson (Melissa) of Fredericksburg and Daniel Philip Stephenson (Catherine) of Chantilly; his sister Rebecca Wilcoxen of Nebraska; and his grandchildren, Kayla Stephenson, Kelly Stephenson and Kaci Stephenson.

A graveside service was held on Friday, January 17th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Culpeper National Cemetery (305 U. s. Ave, Culpeper, VA 22701).
