He was predeceased by: his parents, William Cole Rucker and Margaret Burks Rucker; and his sister Margie Rucker Staton. He is survived by: his wife Cecile Mawyer Rucker; his brothers, Lawrence D. Rucker (Janice) and Raymond L. Rucker (Mary); his sister-in-law Loraine Mawyer; and his nieces and nephews, Gary Mawyer (Karen), Alan Mawyer, Clyde Mawyer, Jr. (Susan), Bryan Mawyer, Bobby Staton (Kim), Cynthia Rucker-Staton Shelor (Bill), Sona Rucker Bartley and Cindy Tyree. He is also survived by great nieces and nephews and great, great nieces and nephews.
