He is survived by: his children, Wilma Hayes, Javier Melendez and Beatriz Melendez; and his grandchildren, Bridgett Feely, Natalie Melendez, Lisette Melendez, Tiffany Borges, David Carreras, Salvador Guzman and Thomas Borges. He is also survived by seven great grandchildren.
