He is survived by: his mother Lillie Mae Wooldridge Mathews; his siblings, Wanda PerDieu, Kathleen Mathews, George Mathews and Carolyn Proffitt; his close friend Diane Doughtery; his nephews, Christopher Mathews, David Mathews, Andrew Mathews, Jacob Mathews and Frankie Carroll; his niece Mary Mathews; his great-niece Jamie Overstreet; and his great-nephews, Quinton Mathews-Irving, Stanley Michael Mathews-Irving, Popcorn and C. J. Mathews-Irving.
