It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Marion Darlene Dowdy (Madison Heights, Virginia), born in Lynchburg, Virginia, who passed away on March 18, 2023, at the age of 76, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Samuel Entsminger and Mary Entsminger. She is survived by: her husband Dale A. Dowdy Sr.; her daughters, Deborah D. Hix (Danny) of Hixburg and Dale Dowdy Jr. (Angie) of Amherst; her grandchildren, Stephanie Tyree, Samantha Stratton (John), Susan Tyree, Will Hix (Lindsey), Brendan Dowdy, Amber Dudley (Jacob), Autumn Stinnett and Ashtyn Cunningham (Blaine); her great grandchildren, Braydon, Brinkleigh, Anniston, Sawyer, Arabella Kay, Colter, Evie and Emersyn; her sister Patsy Eades; her sister-in-law Doris Lee (Lloyd); her niece Faith Coles (Ken); her great-niece Jessica Coles; her nephew Scott Lee (Priscilla); and her great-nephews, Hank and Nick.

In lieu of flowers the family asks contributions to be sent to St. Jude's Children's Hospital or Meals on Wheels.
