He was predeceased by: his wife Phyllis Martin; his parents, Harry Lee Martin and Mary Ellen Martin; his children, Angie Roop, Janet "Rere" Martin and Andy Martin; and his sisters, Frances Justice and Sherry Mullens.

He is survived by: his children, Alice Turner of Madison Heights, Lisa Emily of Atlanta, GA, Sherry Havens of Pearisburg, VA and Larry Wayne Martin of McDonough, GA; and his sister Shelby Fisher of Elliston, VA. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
