With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Joyce Elizabeth Farish Smith-Fittery (Madison Heights, Virginia), born in Charlottesville, Virginia, who passed away on February 1, 2020 at the age of 81. She was predeceased by: her parents, Walter Eugene Farish and Alies Dudley Farish; the father of her children Kenneth M Smith; her son William Smith; and her sister Ethel May Evans.

She is survived by: her husband Wayne Elvis Fittery; her daughters, Jean Oakes (Keith) of Rustburg and Tammy Robertson (Tony) of Lynchburg; her siblings, Margaret Stump of Lynchburg and Mike Farish (Ann) of Lynchburg; her daughters-in-law, Priscilla Smith and Kim Powell; her grandchildren, Heather Cash (Tommy), Elizabeth Sale (Justin), Kenneth Smith, Bridget Martin, Dennis Martin, Jr., Christin Gould (TJ), Kensley Robertson and Blake Robertson; her great grandchildren, Peyton, Paxton Cash, Paisley, Madison Sale, Rachel Oakes, Skylar Gould, Devin, Dixie and Jackson Martin; and her pet Penny.
