He was predeceased by: his parents, Hilton Presley Vassar, Sr. and Minnie O'Dell Daniel Vassar; and his brothers, James Edward Vassar and Phillip George Vassar. He is survived by: his wife Jo Ruth Vassar; his sisters, Sandra Vassar and Helen Gravely; his daughter Dawn Marie Witham (Rob Witham); his grandchildren, Skye Witham, Mark Witham, Sheyann Witham and Winter Alexandria (James Brent Hilliard); and his great grandchildren, Saylor Kate Hilliard and Hagen James Hilliard.
Visitation was held on Friday, January 10th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Whitten Monelison Chapel (3966 S Amherst Hwy, Madison Heights, VA 24572).
