She was predeceased by: her spouse Raymond Glen Hicks; her parents, Bryant William Sale and Nora Burch Sale; her son Raymond G. Hicks, Jr.; and her siblings, Willie Boy Sale, Phillip Sale, Frances Cunningham and Peggy Eagle.

She is survived by: her daughter Sharon H. Tomlin (Ed) of Amherst; her siblings, James Sale, Charles Sale of Lynchburg, Helen S. Dooley of Lynchburg and Betty S. Cofflin of Forest; her grandchildren, Vanessa Fox (Chuck), Jennifer Tuggle (Barry), Christy Hurley (Mark) and Amanda Davis (Mark); and her great grandchildren, Olivia Fox, Hunter Hurley, Cameron Fox, Colby Davis, Claire Tuggle, Parker Hurley, Cayla Davis and William Hurley.
