She was predeceased by: her husband Cecil Talmage Coleman; her parents, John Willie Burch and Myrtle Roberts Burch; and her brothers, Calvin Burch and Alvin "Sonny" Burch.

She is survived by: her children, C. Gary Coleman, Diane Coleman Newman (Greg) and Amy Coleman Sangston (Mark); her great grandchildren, Emma Ellis, Hannah Ellis, Coleman Blodgett, Elizabeth Blodgett, Ethan Ross and Connor Ross; her sister Barbara Coleman; her sister-in-law Joan Burch; and her aunt Janice Viar. She is also survived by eight grandchildren.
