He was predeceased by: his parents, Clarence H. Heerspink and Gertrude Baker Heerspink; and his sister Carol L. McQueen. He is survived by: his daughter Ronda L. Heerspink of Monroe; his brother Dennis Lee Heerspink of Zeeland, MI; and his nieces and nephews, Donna H. Bunce, Kevin Heerspink, Karen Breuker, Mark Dykstra and Mike Dykstra.

“Dear Family of Dave Heerspink, I met your dad at the beginning of LBC’s classes in 1/77. I got stranded at the old high school after the buses left. I had just moved to Lynchburg and didn’t know anyone. My advisor called a student to give me a ride but they didn’t come. Your dad waited a long time on them, but finally had to give me a ride himself. For the next 5 years every time I saw him, he asked about my life. He was so kind! Praying for you at this time.”
