With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Charles Gilbert of Madison Heights, Virginia, who passed away on February 15, 2025 at the age of 78. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
Though Charles may no longer walk beside us, his memory will forever be enshrined in the fabric of the lives of those Charles touched, a beacon of light guiding us through the darkness. In his absence, his spirit lives on — a gentle whisper in the breeze, a ray of sunlight on a cloudy day, a reminder that love knows no boundaries.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Bryd Gilbert and Vernie Austin Gilbert. He is survived by: his wife Annette Buraker Gilbert; his children, Kimberly Michelle Gilbert and Jonathan Michael Gilbert (Keneisha Turner); his grandchildren, Abrielle Jane Toliver and Sophia Marie Toliver; his mother-in-law Loretta Carol Buraker; and also Marvin Eugene Toliver Jr..
Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 22nd 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Tharp Funeral Home Madison Heights Chapel (118 Commonwealth Dr, Madison Heights, VA 24572). A memorial service will be held on Sunday, February 23rd 2025 at 3:00 PM at the same location.
