It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Catherine Smoot Carson of Madison Heights, Virginia, who passed away on February 20, 2025, at the age of 83, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Ruth Shanks Smoot and Walter E. Smoot; her daughter Deborah Carson Mays; and her brother Lowell Clayton Smoot. She is survived by: her husband Herman E. Carson; her daughters, Teresa Carson Scott (Bruce) and Kelly Carson Bray (Mike); her granddaughters, Tracy Mays Keene (Eddie), Amanda Katherine Jude (Paul), Jessica Combs Sommer (Andrew) and Ashley Combs Bryant; her great grandchildren, Jacob, Grayson, Zayden Keene, John, Jordyn Jude, Charlie, Genevieve Sommer, Kinzleigh, Kaiden and Kalaina Bryant; and her son-in-law Gregory S. Mays.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 26th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 12:50 PM at the Whitten Monelison Chapel (3966 S Amherst Hwy, Madison Heights, VA 24572). A celebration of life will be held on Wednesday, February 26th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
