He is survived by: his wife Joyce Riley Welch; his sons, Eugene Carroll Welch (Kim) of Elon, John Owen Welch (Kim) of Concord and Jeffrey Lynn Welch of Elon; his grandchildren, Brandon Welch (Kristin), Tiffany Welch (Ian Davenport), Stephanie Welch and Ryan Welch; his great grandchildren, Hunter and Emily; his siblings, Clarence Welch, Ewart Welch, Gene Welch and Nancy Carwile; and his sisters-in-law, Virginia Welch and Shirley Welch. He is also survived by many other relatives and friends.
