She was predeceased by: her husband Donald Eugene Birch; her parents, Ira Elwood Goodman and Ella Phelps Goodman Cofflin; and her siblings, Jimmy Elwood Goodman and Judith Perrow.

She is survived by: her children, Donald E. Birch, Jr. (Diane) of Madison Heights, Johnnie Birch, Peggy B. Lawhorne (Randy) of Madison Heights and Michael B. Birch (Lila) of Madison Heights; and her brother Richard Goodman of Rustburg. She is also survived by fourteen grandchildren; twenty-four great grandchildren.
