With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Walter Beverly Melvin Jr. of Lynchburg, Virginia, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on September 19, 2024 at the age of 90. He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter B. Melvin, Sr. and Clara Puckett Melvin. He is survived by: his brothers, Gene, Frank and Jack; his son Scott; his great grandchild Gabe Henderson; his wife Linda Melvin; his daughters, Kathy Melvin of Glen Allen, VA and Teresa Ribble of Clearwater, FL; his stepdaughter Valorie Haldren of Moneta, VA; his grandchildren, Ashley Safewright of Jersey City, NJ, Nick Ribble (Carolina) of Tampa, FL and Jay Ribble (Claire) of St. Petersburg, FL; his stepgrandchildren, Andrew Haldren (Hannah) of Silver Spring, MD and Rachel Selby (Josh) of Forest, VA; his great grandchild Brady Ribble; his stepgreat-granddaughters, Peyton and Olivia Selby; and his sister Margaret Pauley of North Tazewell, VA..
