He was predeceased by: his parents, Alexander Terrell Gordon and Mattie Lee Read Gordon; his wife Mary Baxter Gordon; and his sisters, Elizabeth Gracey and JoAnn Fowler.
He is survived by: his children, Lee Ann Dorsey (David) of Louisville, KY, Baxter Gordon (Jane) of Lynchburg and Roberta Barnett (Doug) of Columbia, SC; his grandchildren, Melissa Herre (Adam), Daniel Dorsey (Marianne), Lee Dorsey (Ashley), Will Gordon, Rob Gordon and Sarah Barnett; his stepgrandchildren, John Rose (Jenna), Sam Rose and Martha Rose; and his great grandchild Addison Herre.
