She was predeceased by: her husband William S. Coursey III; and her parents, George Herbert and Alice Hollister Shipman. She is survived by: her son Bainon Myles Coursey (Jennifer Trippe) of Black Mountain, NC; her granddaughter Mathilda Greenlee Coursey; her brother Robert Garfield Shipman (Nancy) of Glastonbury, CT; and her siblings-in-law, Susan Underwood (William) of Andalusia, AL and James B. Coursey (Helen) of Marietta, GA.
She was on the Dance Theatre of Lynchburg Board, the Lynchburg Historical Foundation Board and the Lynchburg Symphony Orchestra Board of Directors.
